Yukito Kunisaki travels in search of the Winged Maiden, a figure from an old story his mother told him about someone bound to the sky long ago. To earn money along the way, he performs puppet shows for people he meets. His journey brings him to a small town where he expects only a brief stop, until an encounter with an unusual girl named Misuzu changes his plans.
