Bastard!!

After a god’s rampage leaves the world in chaos, technology gives way to magic and occult practice. Five magicians—Dark Schneider, Gara, Arshes Nei, Abigail, and Kall Su—move from kingdom to kingdom with an ambitious plan: conquer these realms and rebuild them as utopias. Each carries a private reason for joining the effort, while Dark Schneider’s explosive temper repeatedly turns the mission into destruction. Clerics eventually imprison him inside a baby boy, Luche Len Len, and the remaining four are left to continue without their leader.

Fifteen years later, Gara, Arshes Nei, Abigail, and Kall Su are still pursuing their cause, but their vision has hardened into despotic world rule. When the clerics release Dark Schneider, he is given a new duty: protect the people who once confined him and confront his former comrades. He must find them one by one and try to turn them back from the path they chose. The long confinement has also altered him, making this version of the once-amoral, reckless magician different from the man they remember.

As an Action, Fantasy, and Adventure OVA, Bastard!! combines magical conflict with a sharp redemption premise. Its setting replaces technological progress with occult arts, while its emotional center rests on shifting loyalties: former companions become opponents, and a reckless leader must prove that imprisonment has changed him.
