Birdy the Mighty: Decode
On Earth, Federation investigator Birdy pursues Geega, a space criminal who has slipped into the entertainment industry behind a human identity. To investigate without exposing herself, Birdy takes on the public persona of famous model Arita Shion, whose image often leans into a “space girl” style. Her chase collides with the life of Senkawa, a male student who happens upon a confrontation in an abandoned building. Geega uses him as a shield, leaving Senkawa fatally injured. Birdy manages to keep him from dying, but the rescue permanently binds his body and life to hers, turning a criminal investigation into an impossible shared existence.
Science fiction and action drive a story built around pursuit, disguise, and the consequences of survival. Birdy’s work spans the scale of a space-faring investigation, while Senkawa’s student life is irrevocably altered by a violent encounter. The contrast between an investigator undercover as a model and a young man caught in the wrong place gives the series a distinctive identity-focused tension.
