cocoon – One Summer of Girlhood

In the final months of the Pacific War, San and Mayu, schoolgirls in Okinawa, are pulled into nursing work alongside their classmates. Their assignment to care for wounded soldiers takes a darker turn when the group is told to give their lives for their country. The girls who remain flee, entering a tropical setting transformed into a merciless battlefield.

This is a drama about friendship under pressure, the cost of wartime loyalty, and survival amid a landscape stripped of its postcard beauty. Presented as a finished 2025 special with one episode, cocoon – One Summer of Girlhood keeps its focus on San and Mayu’s bond and the ordeal facing their group.
