Crayon Shin-chan: The Hidden Treasure of the Buri Buri Kingdom
On an imaginary southern island in the Indian Ocean, Shinnosuke is pulled into a dangerous royal kidnapping. White Snake, an evil secret society, seizes him alongside Prince Sunnokeshi of the Buri Buri Kingdom, whose appearance closely matches the young troublemaker. Their captors are pursuing the kingdom's concealed treasure, hidden beneath a golden palace underground. With both boys in danger, Hiroshi and Misae take action rather than remain on the sidelines. They join Lulu, the major of the kingdom's palace guard, in a rescue effort aimed at bringing Shinnosuke and the prince back from White Snake.
Blending comedy with slice-of-life warmth, this action-adventure movie places Shinnosuke's familiar family dynamic against an imaginary island, a royal mystery, and an underground golden palace. The resemblance between Shinnosuke and Sunnokeshi adds a playful identity twist, while the battle against White Snake gives the story clear stakes. At its center is a family-and-allies rescue story, making the film distinctive through its mix of everyday humor, treasure-seeking danger, and an unusual kingdom setting.
Released in 1994, this finished movie contains one episode. Its Japanese title is Crayon Shin-chan: Buriburi Oukoku no Hihou. Since it is a movie rather than a longer series, begin with this film for the complete adventure.
