GANGLION

GANGLION

ガングリオン

In Tokyo during the early 2000s, Isobe works for Ganglion Corporation, an organization pursuing control of the world. His assignments place him on the front line of its schemes: he is sent into operations involving Tokyo’s cedar pollen and a bombing plan aimed at Mount Fuji. Dressed in tights, Isobe faces the hero Hopeman, whose justice-powered strikes leave him defeated. The real pressure comes from both the battlefield and the office, where he must keep going despite the unreasonable demands of his superiors.

GANGLION turns an action setup into a rueful workplace story about endurance, obedience, and the strain of serving an unreasonable organization. Its unusual viewpoint belongs to the ordinary fighter rather than the victorious hero, giving the battles a weary, work-related edge. The result is a sad salaryman tale with a deliberately selective appeal.

This finished TV series contains 24 episodes. Begin with episode 1 to meet Isobe, understand Ganglion’s ambitions, and follow the full shape of his difficult working life.
