Gintama: The Final Chapter - Be Forever Yorozuya

Gintama: Kanketsu-hen - Yorozuya yo Eien Nare · 劇場版 銀魂 完結篇 万事屋よ永遠なれ

At a movie premiere, Gintoki catches a supposed pirate and examines the recording he carries. Instead of finding an ordinary bootleg, he is sent five years ahead into a ruined Edo, where the White Plague has devastated the population. The device behind the jump is an android time machine, leaving Gintoki in a future that needs answers as much as it needs saving.

His arrival in this altered world is anything but familiar. Shinpachi and Kagura, once his Yorozuya cohorts, have split apart and now operate as hardened vigilantes on their own, while Gintoki has been absent for years after leaving an enigmatic note in his journal. Wearing the android’s disguise, he brings the scattered team together and follows the trail of the White Plague. The search points toward the shadow of his own past and a formidable enemy, while friends and allies ensure he will not face the crisis alone.

Balancing Sci-Fi, Action, and Comedy, the film moves between grim survival, sudden absurdity, and determined teamwork. Its time-shifted setup gives the Yorozuya story a tense mystery, while the White Plague and Gintoki’s history raise questions about responsibility, connection, and whether one person must carry a crisis alone. The appeal lies in that contrast: a bleak future becomes the setting for loyalty, humor, and a fight shared with others.

Released in 2013, this finished movie is presented as one episode. Start with this film for a compact story centered on Gintoki, Shinpachi, Kagura, the White Plague, and a future Edo in peril.
