Gurren Lagann

Long confined to a subterranean village away from the daylight, cautious digger Simon and daring dreamer Kamina seek a way upward. Everything changes when Simon unearths a relic key that activates Lagann, a compact machine from an older era. With aid from rifle-toting surface fighter Yoko, the pair repels an assault from above, bursts open the ceiling, and sets out across the open badlands.

Their trek plunges them straight into humanity's struggle against Beastmen piloting destructive combat robots known as Gunmen. Blending spirited adventure with expansive science fiction battles, the story follows this determined trio as they gather fellow survivors to push back hostile forces and uncover a grand cosmic puzzle.
