Last Exile
Above Prester, aircraft rule the routes between nations, powered by a fluid made from the planet’s crystals. The Guild controls the engines that use it and holds sway over the skies. As ecological troubles worsen the rivalry between Anatoray and Disith, even their disputes fall under the Guild’s influence. In this tense world, independent couriers still take to the air in compact craft flown by a pilot and navigator.
Claus Valca, whose father was a renowned vanship pilot, wants to surpass his parents’ achievements. His closest friend, Lavie Head, serves as his navigator. Their courier work takes them toward the Grand Stream, a dangerous current dividing the hostile countries and difficult even for larger airships to cross. A demanding assignment changes the course of their work: they must deliver orphan Alvis Hamilton to the battleship Silvana. The job draws the pair into a wider confrontation with the Guild.
The fantasy and science-fiction setting gives the action a distinctive aerial focus: travel, work, and conflict all unfold among flying machines and contested skies. At its heart, the story follows young couriers pursuing a family legacy while navigating a world shaped by political rivalry and concentrated power. Its combination of adventure, danger, and a richly imagined setting offers plenty to engage viewers who enjoy action with a speculative edge.
