Lupin the 3rd: The Elusiveness of the Fog

In Kiritappu, Fujiko’s lead sends Lupin and Jigen beneath the sea to hunt a lost treasure rumored to explain time travel. Their escape from the law takes a stranger turn when Kyousuke Mamoh strands the entire Lupin gang centuries in the past. With Inspector Zenigata still pursuing them, Lupin and his allies must cross the divide between two rival tribes, uncover the treasure’s secret, and stop Mamoh before he destroys Fujiko’s existence by erasing her ancestor.

Blending action, comedy, and adventure, the special turns a treasure hunt into a brisk time-crossing mystery. Its appeal comes from the clash between Lupin’s gang, Zenigata’s relentless pursuit, two rival tribes, and a villain whose scheme reaches through generations. The result is a playful but urgent setup, with the crew’s criminal escapade placed against a strange historical conflict and an unusually high personal stake for Fujiko.

Released in 2007, Lupin the 3rd: The Elusiveness of the Fog is a finished special presented as one episode. Begin with episode 1 for the complete story, following Lupin, Jigen, Fujiko, Zenigata, and Mamoh from the Kiritappu treasure lead into their dangerous journey through the past.
