Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ
In Universal Century 0088, the aftermath of the Gryps War leaves the Earth Federation unable to counter a new threat. From Axis, Haman Karn leads Zeon remnants who want to restore the Zabi empire, adopting the name Neo-Zeon as they pursue that goal. The AEUG is the only force positioned to resist them, but its ship Argama has been badly depleted by the preceding conflict. Its search for help reaches Shangri-La in Side 1, where junk collector Judau Ashta is asked to pilot the new Double Zeta Gundam.
Alongside science-fiction warfare and mobile-suit action, the series brings comedy into its conflict-driven setting. That combination gives its 1986 TV format a distinct balance: a large-scale struggle over political power is viewed through the arrival of a young civilian pilot. The Double Zeta Gundam also makes the machine at the center of the AEUG’s resistance a clear focal point.
