Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne
Maron Kusakabe appears to be an ordinary student, but she carries the reborn identity of Jeanne d’Arc. With guidance from the angel Fin Fish, she becomes the nighttime thief Jeanne, sealing demons hidden inside works of art. These spirits exploit the vulnerable feelings of the people who own the pieces. Once Jeanne completes her work, the artwork disappears, so the public sees Maron’s alter ego as a genuine thief rather than a protector. Her difficult double life grows even more complicated when a new classmate and neighbor arrives—and reveals himself as Sinbad, a rival thief. Maron also has to contend with her closest friend, whose father is the detective pursuing Jeanne.
Romance, fantasy, action, and comedy meet in a story built around secret identities, supernatural artwork, and competing thieves. Maron’s hidden mission creates a lively contrast between her everyday school life and the danger of her nighttime work. The rivalry with Sinbad adds another layer of tension, while her friendship with the detective’s daughter keeps the threat close to home. Its appeal comes from balancing a magical premise with personal complications and playful energy.
