Summer Time Rendering

Shinpei Aijiro returns to his hometown on a small island after two years away, arriving for the funeral of his childhood friend, Ushio Kofune. Yet the circumstances surrounding Ushio’s death feel wrong to Sou Hishigata, Shinpei’s best friend, who fears that another person may be next. The unease deepens when a troubling sound is heard and an entire neighboring family vanishes the following day. Mio connects the case to a “shadow” from three days before Ushio’s death, drawing Shinpei into a mystery where mourning, suspicion, and danger are tightly connected.

Blending mystery, supernatural drama, and thriller tension, the series turns a summer setting into an atmosphere of uncertainty. Its emotional core is shaped by loss, while the strange clues and disappearing family add urgency to the question of what truly happened. The contrast between familiar island life and ominous suspicion gives the story a distinctive mood.
