The Melancholy of Haruhi-chan Suzumiya

This parody reimagines the Suzumiya ensemble in a smaller, more exaggerated form. Yuki spends her time with eroge, Haruhi becomes even louder and more obnoxious, and Mikuru reacts with heightened emotion. Koizumi, meanwhile, carries a profound affection for Kyon, while Kyon remains much as he always is.

Its appeal comes from character comedy, exaggerated reactions, and the amusing contrast between the cast’s altered traits and Kyon’s steadiness. This finished 2009 ONA has 25 episodes, making it a compact web series built around playful personality shifts.
