To You in the Beyond

To You in the Beyond

Doko yori mo Tooi Basho ni Iru Kimi e · どこよりも遠い場所にいる君へ

Kazuki Tsukigase arrives at a high school on a remote island, hoping distance will keep him away from people who know him. The island carries its own unsettling story: an inlet is said to be a place where people vanish. When Kazuki investigates, he discovers a girl lying unconscious. After he brings her to the clinic, she wakes with almost no answers—only the name Nao, her age, 16, and a whispered year: 1974.

Blending mystery with romance, the film builds its appeal around identity, disappearance, and an encounter that seems to cross an impossible distance. The remote-island setting gives the story an intimate, uneasy atmosphere, while Nao’s limited introduction leaves room for questions about who she is and why 1974 is the only clue she can offer.

As a finished 2026 movie, To You in the Beyond is listed as one episode. Start with the movie itself: Kazuki’s arrival at the island begins the mystery, and the clinic encounter deepens it through Nao’s fragmentary introduction.
