Waiting in the Summer
One summer night, Kaito Kirishima is using his camera near a bridge when a blue glow flashes overhead and a sudden force sends him from the railing. Before he loses consciousness, someone takes his hand. He later comes to in his own room, apparently unharmed, with the night missing from his memory. School life resumes, but the unexplained incident gives the story an immediate thread of mystery.
At school, Kaito and his friends turn their attention to his camera and settle on a summer-break filmmaking project. Kaito is drawn to Ichika Takatsuki, a new upperclassman, so Tetsurou Ishigaki brings Ichika and her friend Remon Yamano into the group. As the friends spend the season making their movie, their shared project becomes a setting for closer bonds, unexpected excitement, and feelings they can no longer leave unexamined.
Romance and science fiction meet in a story shaped by youthful curiosity, attraction, friendship, and the pressure of being honest with one another. Its appeal comes from placing an intimate relationship story beside a mysterious event, then letting a creative group activity bring the characters together. The summer setting gives the series a warm, lively surface while emotional uncertainty keeps the mood in motion.
