With her father still absent after receiving a summons, Marie prepares for the betrothal ceremony while struggling with etiquette and dance practice. Learning that Norman’s apprentice Arthur creates male disguises for women, she becomes convinced that Anastasia may be alive and asks to meet him, then retreats in distress when the meeting cannot take place. Marie tells Lord Kyros that she believes her sister lives and asks him to call off their betrothal.
