Episode 2: Transformation

Haruyuki is quickly defeated by Ash Roller, then learns from Kuroyukihime that continuing to accelerate requires battling and overcoming other Brain Burst avatars. She explains that an avatar reflects its user's thoughts, making his own form an expression of his inferiority complex, and offers him a chance to return to ordinary life, which he refuses because she changed it. After agreeing to remain her friend and train, Haruyuki challenges Ash Roller again and uses a delaying tactic that fails when the motorcycle climbs walls. He identifies the machine's rear-wheel-drive weakness, lifts its back wheel, and wins with a close-range headbutt.
